Wooden Toy

Half sunken car. Emerging alligator. Cute graphics. A strange mix of ideas for a sculpture. This started off as a illustration for a poster for the 5th annual Dead Horse Festival but soon took on a life of its own.

I collaborated with Pete Michelinie, furniture maker extraordinaire and long time friend, to create this wooden desktop toy. Pete is skilled in creating 18th century furniture and cabinetry, (he once got us a privileged look behind the scenes at the Victoria & Albert museum's furniture restoration rooms!) so this project only took him about an hour to create.

As for now, this little toy makes a nice paperweight and desktop companion.
